Print Layout Composition I
The design challenge was to arrange and color a given set of assets including vector shapes and text for a poster composition in 7 minutes.
I focused on hierarchy and the James Mahoney’s concept of the attention funnel. I rotated the main titular-like element, creating high contrast within a mostly monochromatic color scheme by substantially raising the color value and including the high-value complementary color orange line across the right side of it, creating a focal point. The low-contrast curved element in the background adds interest without stealing attention from the focal point. The text is low-value orange with low opacity, amounting to a whisper that the user finds only after they have been drawn in by the bold title.
