Composition Sprints
Learning the fundamentals of design & composition
The design challenge was to create an “interesting” composition with given assets and a constrained number of elements we could include. For this version, we could use three elements, where a layered image counted as one element, and an image masked by a shape counted as one element. We had 7 minutes to complete the sprint.
I chose to focus on visual hierarchy—specifically, James Mahoney’s concept of the “attention funnel” (one bold element, one medium element, and one “whisper” element)—to create the the two compositions below within the 7-minute sprint time constraint.
